Registered Nurse II/III - MC/CHC (Full-Time & Per Diem) - Arlington Campus (Finance)
The Riverside University Health System's Medical Center is currently recruiting registered nurses for our Arlington Campus. Arlington Campus consists of three inpatient adult units, an adolescent unit, and an emergency treatment psychiatric services unit. Applications submitted will be considered for all units. Incumbents must possess strong communication and de‑escalation skills, along with group facilitation abilities.
Unit Overview- Emergency Treatment Services: Serves patients of all ages. Requires quick triage, assessment skills and 24‑hour observation for additional treatment or service needs.
- Unit A: Nine‑bed inpatient unit for high‑acuity behavioral health patients.
- Units B and C: Acute inpatient psychiatric care units. Each unit has 28 beds and provides acute inpatient adult behavioral health care.
- Unit D: Adolescent unit with 12 beds for patients aged 13‑17.
- Schedule may vary depending on department needs.

- Assess, plan, organize, and provide nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with physician instructions; make preliminary observations and prepare patients for medical treatment.
- Assist physicians in administering treatments and performing medical examinations, diagnostic tests, and surgical operations.
- Administer prescribed treatments and medications, including dispensing as ordered; chart treatment; record and report significant changes.
- Provide counseling to patients, families, and significant others regarding special medical problems and appropriate healthcare methods.
- Prepare and maintain concise, complete records and reports; instruct patients in carrying out physician's orders; transcribe orders to working records.
- Provide orientation and training to new staff, residents, medical students, ROP participants, and nursing students.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews; act as a team leader or relief charge nurse.
- Assign and monitor work of subordinate nursing personnel; participate in committee activities; identify staff training needs.
- Triage patients by reviewing admission charts and merging them into appropriate patient assignment or clinic flow.
- Testify in court regarding client’s mental and physical condition.
- Coordinate and monitor patients through hospitalization, utilizing physicians, primary‑care nurses, and third‑party payors to maintain quality care and fiscal responsibility.
- Review post‑hospital care plan with patient/family, establish contact regarding timelines and responsibilities; follow care plan through discharge.
Salary Range: $43.99 – $68.09 per hour
Per Diem Rate: $68.09 per hour
Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid California RN license (a bachelor’s degree in nursing or a health‑related field may be required for some positions).
ExperienceEquivalent one year full‑time RN experience in an acute‑care hospital, clinic outpatient setting, or healthcare agency program. Experience as an Interim Permit Nurse may be credited.
KnowledgeCurrent principles, techniques and procedures used in professional nursing; medical terminology and patient‑care routine; medical instruments and equipment; uses and effects of medicines and narcotics; community resources for patient care and follow‑up; federal, state and local nursing laws; identification of discharge needs; payor documentation and reimbursement regulations.
