Job Description

Cisneros Insurance Agency is seeking a confident, motivated, and sales-driven Commercial Insurance Broker to join our team. This position is responsible for managing the commercial insurance sales process from initial opportunity through binding coverage.

The ideal candidate understands how to qualify commercial risks, gather underwriting information, prepare submissions, market accounts to appropriate insurance carriers, evaluate coverage options, present proposals, and close business. This role requires strong commercial insurance knowledge, sales ability, organization, persistence, and consistent follow-through.

Brokers will receive agency-provided sales opportunities while also being encouraged to develop business through referrals, networking, prospecting, and relationship building.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the commercial insurance sales process from prospecting and qualification through binding coverage.
  • Work and consistently follow up on agency-provided leads and sales opportunities.
  • Develop additional new business through referrals, networking, prospecting, and other sources.
  • Qualify commercial risks and determine whether opportunities fit available carrier appetites.
  • Identify business exposures and understand each prospect's insurance and coverage needs.
  • Gather applications, loss runs, exposure information, and other documentation required for underwriting.
  • Prepare accurate and complete submissions for insurance carriers.
  • Identify appropriate insurance markets and market accounts based on risk characteristics, coverage needs, and carrier appetite.
  • Communicate and negotiate with underwriters throughout the marketing and quoting process.
  • Review quotes, coverage terms, exclusions, deductibles, and pricing.
  • Develop and present professional insurance proposals to prospective clients.
  • Explain coverage options and recommend appropriate commercial insurance solutions.
  • Negotiate, overcome objections, and close new business.
  • Maintain consistent and persistent follow-up with prospects, clients, underwriters, and referral partners.
  • Manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while maintaining an accurate and organized sales pipeline.
  • Accurately maintain prospect and client information across agency management and sales systems.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business owners, clients, carrier partners, and referral sources.
  • Meet or exceed established new-business production goals.
Requirements
  • Active California Property & Casualty Insurance License strongly preferred.
  • Previous commercial insurance experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior insurance sales and/or business-to-business sales experience.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting, risk qualification, carrier marketing, and the sales process.
  • Ability to qualify commercial risks, gather underwriting information, prepare submissions, and market accounts to appropriate insurance carriers.
  • Strong sales, prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent follow-up and follow-through with the ability to manage opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities at different stages of the sales process.
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working across multiple computer systems, applications, and online platforms.
  • Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to learn and efficiently navigate agency management systems, CRM platforms, carrier websites, and insurance technology.
  • Experience working with and converting internet-generated sales leads preferred.
  • Professional demeanor with sound ethical judgment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required; fluency in both preferred.
  • Competitive, persistent, dependable, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be available to work full-time, in-office in Riverside, California. This position is not remote
