Job Description & DutiesThis is a bilingual–Spanish position; applicants must be able to pass a bilingual–Spanish fluency examination. The role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule; the amount of telework is at the discretion of the department and is subject to change as business needs arise.
Responsibilities:
- Perform full‑time in‑person outreach to the Migrant and Seasonal Farm worker (MSFW) population in locations where farm workers work and congregate.
- Present information and offer assistance regarding services available from the local America’s Job Center of California (AJCC), including agricultural and non‑agricultural employment.
- Assist MSFWs with training and job development needs, including use of the CalJOBS system and preparation of forms.
- Provide information on workforce services, complaints, and related agencies; prepare and submit complaints to the Complaints Representative or manager.
- Visit agricultural employers on behalf of MSFWs; encourage MSFWs to visit local AJCC sites and provide on‑the‑job support.
- Observe and document working and living conditions of MSFWs.
- Develop and improve workforce services partnerships with public and private agencies, MSFW groups and employers.
- Maintain complete records of MSFW contacts and services provided; complete required reports.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed in the Classification Specification. All candidates must successfully complete the Employment Program Representative exam prior to interview. Passing results for the exam are required.
Special Requirements- Fluency in Spanish; absence of a current record will require successful completion of an approved language fluency test.
