Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable jurisdictional gaming statutes and regulations.
- Maintain a cash bank for your shift, responsible for accepting payments and making correct change when necessary.
- Stock Sports book stations with adequate supplies, keeping all stations neat and clean.
- Write sports tickets accurately and in a timely manner.
- Make payments on winning tickets accurately and in a timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs.
- Maintain and reconcile the bank for your shift, following established cash‑handling policies and procedures.
- Explain wagering rules, including betting lines and odds, and procedures to guests.
- Ensure compliance with currency transaction requirements, Title 31, and Suspicious Activity Reporting for Casinos (SAR) requirements.
- Provide information and assistance to customers in a friendly, courteous manner to ensure delivery of guest service; offer information on activities and direct guests for further information as necessary.
- Create and enter player tracking cards.
- Notify management of escalated or prevalent guest issues/concerns and any apparent suspicious activity.
- Perform other job‑related duties as requested.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED.
- Minimum six (6) months of cash‑handling experience.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a high‑stress, high‑volume environment.
- Ability to work in and adapt to a dynamic, frequently changing environment.
- Ability to adhere to and execute established department policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of sports.
- Proficient cash‑handling skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while paying attention to details.
- Basic math skills to calculate winnings based on odds.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional, neat, and well‑groomed appearance, adhering to department and company standards.
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; read and communicate verbally in English; written communication skills in English may also be required.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsEmployee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Physical DemandsThe employee is required to stand frequently and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds, and must have the capability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varied work areas such as confined spaces.
