Job SummarySeeking a dedicated and knowledgeable compounding pharmacist to ensure the safe and effective delivery of all forms of compounded preparations. This is a supporting compounding pharmacist position that reports to the Pharmacist in Charge. The ideal candidate will possess a background in compounding, technician management, commitment to quality, and focus on patient care. This role involves ensuring regulatory compliance, quality control, and effective team management while also engaging in direct supervision of compounding technicians and compounding rooms.
Responsibilities- Ensures the facility complies with all state and federal laws, relevant USP standards, and applicable FDA regulations.
- Follows SOPs to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Monitors and evaluates raw materials, processes, and final compounded medications to ensure they meet the highest quality standards. Regularly conducts evaluations and observes compounding operations directly.
- Reports quality-related issues to the Designated Person and works with the team to implement corrective actions.
- Ensures proper inventory management of raw materials, ensuring correct storage and handling practices.
- Maintains robust documentation systems for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Other duties as required.
While performing the job, the employee must be able to communicate effectively. The role often requires remaining in a stationary position for significant periods and frequently using hands to perform aseptic manipulations. The employee is also expected to move around the office, stand, walk, reach, and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Knowledge and Skills- Knowledge of the entire USP Compounding Compendium, state pharmacy laws, and applicable federal regulations.
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with injectables including processes such as mixing, equipment processing, depyrogenation, sterilization, and fill-finish operations.
- Expected to maintain qualification to enter cleanroom spaces.

- Experience in sterile compounding with expertise in aseptic techniques, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance in a sterile pharmacy setting.
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Additional state pharmacist licenses as needed.
