Job description
We are looking for a Truck Mechanic. The Truck Mechanic is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the maintenance and repair of various types of mobile equipment in the Company’s shop and perform routine preventive maintenance procedures.
Complete all service reports and submit on timely basis
Perform cleanup at end of day or when job is completed, including cleaning tools and putting tools in proper storage
Proactively communicate with Equipment Manager concerning equipment and job-related projects
Inspect and ensure safety devices are functional – such as back up alarms, fire extinguishers, seat belts, horns, etc.
Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment
Work more than 40 hours per week and overtime including some weekends
Perform additional assignments per Equipment Manager’s direction
Follow approved maintenance standards and techniques
Inventory supplies
Required Skills:
Must be able to diagnose and repair trucks and trailers.
Must be familiar with air and hydraulic systems and components.
Valid Drivers license and be local
Experience working with Kenworth, Transport Trailers, Peterbilt, Freight, Dump Trucks. etc.
Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb
Able to speak clearly and listen attentively
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Able to work weekends as needed.
At least 2 to 5 years’ experience as a mechanic working on commercial trucks.
History of working safely.
Experience:
Diesel Mechanic: 1 year (Required)
Truck Mechanic: 1 year (Required)
