Mobile Pantry - Resident Hallway Cleaner

The Resident Worker (Mobile Pantry) supports CMHA community initiatives by assisting with Mobile Pantry events. This position performs hands‑on, physical work to support the delivery, organization, and distribution of food at designated CMHA sites. The role also supports other Resident Worker duties on non‑pantry days as operational needs allow.

This is a part‑time, as‑needed position for CMHA residents in good standing.

PAY RATE: $10.70/Hour

LOCATIONS/

SCHEDULE:

Availability on scheduled Mobile Pantry delivery days is required
. In addition, Resident Workers may be scheduled to assist their assigned property with other Resident Worker duties on non‑pantry days, based on operational needs.

  • Beachcrest (Golden Age Center) – 1st Thursday – 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • Bellaire (Building

    B) – 1st Friday – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Cedar High Rise – 3rd Wednesday – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Lakeview Towers – 4th Wednesday – 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Auburn – 2nd Thursday – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Outhwaite Community Center – 3rd Monday – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Riverview Towers – 3rd Tuesday – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Union Square – 4th Thursday – 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

EDUCATION: Must be a CMHA Resident in good standing.

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience performing physical or manual labor is preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and move boxes and materials associated with food distribution activities.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and interact professionally with CMHA staff, partner organizations, residents, and the general public.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast‑paced, event‑based environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once tasks are assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with unloading, unboxing, sorting, and organizing food deliveries on Mobile Pantry delivery days.
  • Support set‑up, distribution, and breakdown of food pantry operations at designated CMHA locations.
  • Assist with distributing food to residents in an orderly, respectful, and safe manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area before, during, and after pantry events.
  • Follow all safety instructions, site procedures, and supervisory direction.
  • Interact professionally with CMHA staff, partner organizations, and residents.
  • Perform other Resident Worker duties on non‑pantry days, as assigned, including support for resident services or community initiatives.

The qualifications listed above are guidelines. Other combinations of education and experience that could provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
