About the Role
Capital One’s Audit function is a dedicated group of professionals focused on delivering top‑quality assurance services to the organization’s Audit Committee. We look for experienced, well‑trained, and credentialed auditors who thrive in a collaborative, agile environment and drive impactful work for the enterprise. This role is focused on the Global Payments Network, covering all associated platforms, technologies, and operations such as credit/debit processing, authorization, clearing & settlement (domestic and international), and digital payments.
Responsibilities- Plan, perform, and lead large/complex audits at the enterprise level and across diverse lines of business.
- Perform risk assessments of business activities, potential exposures and materiality of loss.
- Design and perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting processes.
- Leverage data and analytical tools during planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases.
- Compile relevant, material findings and recommendations into clear audit reports.
- Communicate audit results to management via written reports and oral presentations.
- Provide input into the development of the annual audit plan.
- Design and execute internal control testing for standardized operations of moderate complexity.
- Offer risk‑management advice and counsel to business leadership on best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with line management and auditees during engagements.
- Manage audit work and project resources, providing feedback to junior auditors.
- Adapt to change, embrace bold ideas, and pursue intellectual curiosity.
- Build influential relationships based on shared risk objectives and trust.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in internal or external auditing, accounting, financial analysis, information systems, compliance, or risk management within banking or financial services.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- 3+ years of audit leadership and auditor‑in‑charge experience.
- 2+ years experience with payment technologies (HPE Nonstop, IBM Mainframe, mobile payments, tokenized services, cloud/virtual environments, Windows/Linux).
- 2+ years experience in the payments network industry (MANIC model, PCI standards, international regulations).
- 2+ years experience at a leading public accounting or consulting firm, leading cross‑cultural teams in a regulated environment.
- Professional certifications (CISA, CISSP, CISM, CPA, CIA).

Riverwoods, IL. Salaries range by location (e.g., Charlotte $144,000 – $164,400;
Chicago $144,000 – $164,400;
McLean $158,400 – $180,800;
New York $172,800 – $197,200; Plano $144,000 – $164,400; Richmond $144,000 – $164,400; Riverwoods $144,000 – $164,400). Incentive compensation may include cash bonuses and/or long‑term incentives.
Associates will work in‑person at the office on Monday–Thursday;
Friday is a virtual day for the enterprise.
