Job Description:

What You'll Do

Responsible for leading and managing teams that develop, enhance and oversee credit management strategies and/or loss forecasts in support of and under the oversight of the overall Risk management framework and practices. Performs effective challenge of credit strategies across the life cycle and makes recommendations to Credit Management teams and Credit Committees. Develops and implements the monitoring and reporting framework to independently measure the performance of the consumer lending portfolio and escalates insights and emerging risks to management.

Designs and monitors consumer credit risk appetite, tolerance, and thresholds. Adheres to credit risk oversight governance processes. Leads and guides decision making on critical business components such as credit losses, receivables, and profit. Identifies business opportunities and leads the team to execute on them to support the business strategy.

Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.

How You'll Do It

  • Leads the development of short and long-term plans for Credit teams, aligning initiatives to drive business results.
  • Ensures effective processes and systems are in place to achieve results and people development.
  • Addresses escalated concerns and ensures resolution to address root cause.
  • Creates a culture of continuous improvement for both business outcomes and work processes. Influences organizational culture and promotes "change" to enhance decision making processes.
  • Coaches and develops technical, managerial and leadership skills of direct reports. Be a role model for leadership behaviors.

Qualifications You'll Need

The Basics

  • Bachelors in Mathematics, Social Sciences, Business Administration and Management, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related.
  • 8+ years experience in analytics, consulting, financial services or related.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • 10+ years experience in analytics, consulting, financial services or related.
  • 5+ years of experience in 2nd line Credit Risk Oversight and Governance functions.
