Overview

Machinist role at PlanIT Group, LLC
, Riviera Beach, FL. Compensation: $22.00-$26.00 per hour. This position involves setting up and operating machine tools and supporting production goals.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
  • Select and use appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials to achieve desired results
  • Perform machining operations, such as turning, milling, drilling, and grinding, to produce parts and components
  • Inspect and test finished parts to ensure they meet quality and precision standards
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations
  • Collaborate with other machinists, engineers, and technicians to achieve production goals and resolve technical issues
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a machinist, or completion of a machinist apprenticeship program
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, including geometry, trigonometry, and metallurgy
  • Proficiency in operating various machine tools, including CNC machines
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certificate in machining or a related field preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and programming languages, such as G-code and M-code
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures and inspection techniques
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Certification as a journeyman machinist or equivalent
Work Environment
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to typical machining hazards, noise, and dust
  • Standing, walking, and lifting required, with regular use of hand tools and machinery
  • Team-oriented environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity
