Summary of the Role

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with Saudi regulations and company policies. The role includes managing accounts payable and receivable, general ledger activities, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, tax compliance (VAT, WHT, ZATCA), payroll accounting support, and month-end/year-end closing activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, hands‑on ERP experience (preferably Xero), and a solid understanding of accounting standards and the Saudi regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, cash reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and customer account follow‑ups.
  • Lead month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reconciliation processes.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning and business decision‑making.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records, ensuring complete supporting documentation for all transactions and accounting activities.
  • Support payroll accounting, employee reimbursements, accruals, and provisions while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Utilize ERP accounting systems effectively and support continuous improvement of finance processes and system integration.
  • Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian tax regulations, including VAT filings, Withholding Tax (WHT), and ZATCA requirements and reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls and identify opportunities for process automation and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Assist management with financial analysis, reporting requirements, and ad‑hoc finance‑related tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and technology in the industry to keep our company at the forefront of innovation.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10–15 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within Saudi Arabia.
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP accounting systems;
    Xero experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month‑end/year‑end closing processes.
  • Professional certification is an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi accounting practices, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with VAT filing, Withholding Tax (WHT), and ZATCA compliance is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, and accounting software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with strong process‑oriented thinking.
