As part of their continued focus on strengthening financial governance and ensuring accurate reporting, they are seeking a GL Accountant Section Head to play a pivotal leadership role within the Finance function.
This is an opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to step into a position of ownership, visibility, and impact, ensuring financial integrity while supporting strategic decision‑making at the senior level.
The RoleAs GL Accountant Section Head, you will take full responsibility for managing the General Ledger function, overseeing month‑end and quarter‑end close processes, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting in line with Egyptian & KSA Accounting Standards and SAP FI processes.
You will act as a key point of coordination between Finance, auditors, banks, and other internal divisions, ensuring strong controls, clear reporting, and timely delivery of critical financial information.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the monthly and quarterly closing processes, including accruals, provisions, prepayments, and recurring journal entries
- Oversee bank reconciliations and ensure accurate integration of AP and AR into the GL
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets
- Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts, ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy
- Support quarterly and year‑end audits, maintaining robust documentation and audit trails
- Provide profitability analysis and strategic financial reporting to management
- Manage accounting transactions within SAP FI (GL/AP/AR/AA)
- Ensure compliance with Egyptian Accounting Standards and statutory reporting requirements
- Monitor payables aging, review fixed asset registers, and oversee receivables, including key client accounts
- Liaise with banks, auditors, and external consultants to support compliance and financial governance
- The successful candidate will have 5–7 years of progressive experience within General Ledger or Financial Accounting.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce is essential.
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or Egyptian GAAP
- Proven experience in preparing financial statements and variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills and strong SAP expertise
- Solid understanding of VAT, tax, and statutory reporting requirements in Egypt & KSA
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight period‑end deadlines
- You will be analytical, structured, and commercially aware, someone who combines technical precision with confidence to engage cross‑functionally and contribute to broader financial strategy.
