Civil Engineering Technician; Trainee

Job Description

• Inspect, monitor and supervise the ongoing Civil Works construction as part of the Civil Works Domain along the Saudi Arabian Border locations for either:
  New Buildings (Training Center, C2-C2I Room and Rapid Response Station) and Tower, carried out by the Consortium Partner "AL-Rashid Trading & Contracting CO." (RTCC).
• Review Civil Works Design Drawings. Verify and validate construction works delivered in the field are in accordance with the ‘Testing and Commissioning’, ‘Quality Assurance (QA)’ and the Approved Civil Works Design Drawings.
• Attend in collaboration with the key site Stakeholders, Consortium Partner (RTCC) Site Engineers and their sub-contractors, Request for Inspection (RFI) but not limited to. Responsible for following the systematic process of construction (RFI) for all Building Types and Towers from Site Inception to Civil Works Acceptance and ultimately, Site Civil Works Handover to the Customer.
• Oversees the Construction of the “Civil Works Interface” relating to the Airbus System, which shall be delivered as part of the Buildings and Tower scope for the Minor and Major Infrastructure.
• Produces and records of site reports and submits progress of site construction on a daily basis, through Daily Progress Reports (DPR). Submit (DPR) to the Back Office Engineers.
• Fully versed with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ‘Building Code’ Standards and Norms.
• Supervision
  • Daily supervision of consortium partner (RTCC) works at site.
  • Prepare the daily, weekly and monthly report of work progress and send to sub domain lead.
  • Attend (RFI) and Material Inspection Reports (MIR) and witness the tests on site.
  • Liaise with office and site staff for technical assistance. Obtain back office support for design drawings, specifications including standards and all other required information.
• Supervision Role
  • Monitor testing and inspection records and reports.
  • Maintain request for information log and post (RFI) responses on record drawings.
  • Distribute new drawings, changes, approved submittals, (RFI) responses and other project information to all affected parties.
  • Monitor safety inspection and accident logs and reports.
• Technical
  • Review “To Build Drawings” for the execution, installation and testing & commissioning.
  • For any deviation or change, raise the issue(s) to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Participation in all types of testing & commissioning for all deliverables as per contractual obligations.
  • As-built verification.
  • Harmonization with the customer for site inspections.
• Competent in On Site Health and Safety Requirements.

• Candidates must have basic knowledge of Civil Construction.
• Experienced in Construction Standards and Principles.

• Civil Engineering Diploma or Equivalent.

• English and Arabic.

• Fluent written and spoken English skills.

• Arabic language skills.

• Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
• Experienced in working in complex large project environments and work in a team.
• Ability to work with highly confidential information.
• Flexible / Agile / Enthusiastic / Motivated / Self-confident.
• Adhere to Company on site Health and Safety requirements.
• Ready to locate anywhere in KSA and Extensive Driving shall be required.

• Computer literate, Good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point & MS Project).

• Sound understanding of Civil Works Building and Construction / Foundation / New Buildings / Equipment and Telecommunication Rooms / Towers / Refurbishments of Buildings.
• Full understanding of Site Construction Build Documentation / Auto-Cad Design Drawings.
