Civil Project Manager; Data Centre Construction

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of civil engineering works on large-scale data centre developments. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the civil construction package from pre‑construction through to project completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of heavy civil engineering, infrastructure works, earthworks, drainage, utilities, reinforced concrete structures, and external works, together with excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.

• Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering works for hyperscale and enterprise data centre projects
• Lead project delivery from mobilisation through to handover
• Develop and manage project programmes, resource plans, and construction methodologies
• Ensure works are completed safely and in compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, procurement schedules, and cost performance
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal project teams
• Manage civil engineering interfaces with structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams
• Oversee earthworks, foundations, drainage, underground services, utilities, roads, hard standing, reinforced concrete, retaining structures, and external infrastructure
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
• Chair progress meetings and produce project reports for senior management and clients
• Ensure compliance with planning conditions, permits, environmental regulations, and contractual obligations
• Resolve technical and commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle
• Drive programme recovery where necessary to maintain key project milestones
• Manage inspections, testing, quality assurance, and snagging activities
• Support project close‑out, documentation, and final handover

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Proven experience managing large civil engineering projects valued at £10M
• MUST HAVE experience delivering data centres, mission‑critical facilities, industrial developments and major infrastructure projects
