Context

The Senior Manager - Contracts will act as a key commercial and contractual authority for a high‑profile giga‑project in Riyadh. The position covers the full contract lifecycle, from RFP development, procurement support, tender administration, negotiation, contract award, post‑contract management, claims review, variation assessment, payment certification, dispute resolution, to final account closeout. The role supports project leadership by identifying commercial risks early, strengthening contractual controls, improving documentation discipline, and ensuring that client, contractor, joint venture, and project obligations are managed with accuracy and transparency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the full contract administration process from RFP development, tendering, contract formation, award support, post‑contract management, final accounts, and closeout.
  • Review procurement and tender documentation to ensure contractual clarity, risk allocation, commercial completeness, and alignment with project delivery objectives.
  • Identify commercial risks, contractual exposures, liabilities, and potential claims early, then develop mitigation strategies to protect project margins and client interests.
  • Lead the review, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of complex change orders, variations, extension of time requests, and high‑value commercial claims.
  • Provide clear contractual advice to the Project Director, senior management, client representatives, commercial teams, and delivery stakeholders.
  • Act as the main commercial point of contact for clients, subcontractors, consultants, internal legal teams, project controls, and executive leadership.
  • Monitor contract performance against budgets, payment milestones, deliverables, contractual obligations, and approved commercial controls.
  • Oversee pre‑contract and post‑contract administration to ensure full compliance with main contract terms, subcontract agreements, joint venture requirements, and project procedures.
  • Manage contractual correspondence, notices, records, claims files, payment documentation, approvals, and decision logs with strong traceability.
  • Lead dispute resolution activities in coordination with legal, commercial, project, and executive teams to achieve practical and timely outcomes.
  • Supervise review and approval processes for monthly progress payments, interim valuations, contractor applications, final accounts, and package closeouts.
  • Establish and maintain contract management procedures that improve governance, commercial visibility, documentation quality, and decision control.
  • Review contractor claims, entitlement submissions, delay‑related cost impacts, and commercial narratives to support fair and evidence‑based recommendations.
  • Support negotiation meetings with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and stakeholders while maintaining a balanced approach to risk, cost, time, and contractual compliance.
  • Prepare commercial reports, risk briefings, claims summaries, change registers, contract status updates, and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Mentor and manage quantity surveyors, contract administrators, cost specialists, and commercial support teams.
  • Promote disciplined contract administration, ethical procurement practices, commercial transparency, and proactive risk management across the project.
