The Construction Director - Public Venues will lead the construction delivery of major public venues, complex buildings, associated infrastructure, utilities, and public realm components within a high‑profile Riyadh development environment. The role carries responsibility for construction strategy, site execution, contractor coordination, phasing, logistics, quality control, safety performance, and stakeholder alignment. Success in this position requires the ability to manage demanding programs, resolve construction challenges quickly, and keep large multidisciplinary teams focused on schedule, cost, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the overall construction strategy, phasing approach, site execution plan, and delivery roadmap for complex public venue developments.
- Lead construction activities across the district, ensuring work is aligned with approved project objectives, delivery milestones, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee the construction of major buildings, theaters, public venues, infrastructure packages, utility corridors, public realm works, and related site development activities.
- Review and approve construction methodologies, temporary works proposals, logistics plans, site access strategies, and sequencing plans.
- Manage contractors, consultants, construction managers, and delivery partners to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, project management, commercial, procurement, legal, and stakeholder teams to resolve delivery issues.
- Support procurement planning and contract administration in collaboration with commercial and legal teams.
- Monitor construction progress through KPIs, dashboards, reports, inspections, technical audits, and executive‑level progress reviews.
- Lead site inspections and quality reviews to confirm that construction output follows approved design intent, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
- Drive the use of digital construction tools such as BIM, common data environment platforms, progress reporting systems, and coordination software.
- Enforce compliance with safety, environmental, sustainability, regulatory, and quality management standards.
- Manage construction sequencing for utility diversions, enabling works, infrastructure installations, and interface‑heavy construction zones.
- Identify construction risks early and implement mitigation plans to reduce delay, cost impact, quality issues, and stakeholder disruption.
- Support the resolution of technical issues, claims, change events, disputes, and construction interface conflicts.
- Represent the construction function in senior leadership meetings, providing clear updates, strategic input, risks, and recovery actions.
- Engage with government entities, utility providers, community representatives, consultants, contractors, and internal project stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide the construction management team, building a culture of accountability, safety, technical discipline, and continuous improvement.
