Job Purpose
Manage and execute advanced quantity surveying functions across major construction and infrastructure projects. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for cost planning, estimation, procurement support, contract administration, and commercial reporting throughout all project stages.
Duties and Responsibilities- Lead cost planning, estimation, and budget management from project inception to completion
- Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities, cost estimates, and other commercial documentation
- Support procurement activities, including subcontractor evaluations, cost assessments, and negotiations
- Monitor and control project costs, track variations, and implement value‑for‑money strategies
- Administer contracts in accordance with relevant forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, bespoke), including handling claims, variations, and commercial correspondence
- Assess and certify interim and final payments for contractors and suppliers
- Conduct cost analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting for internal teams and clients
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of commercial, financial, and progress reports
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure proper commercial governance
- Maintain accurate cost records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience
- Master’s Degree (MSc) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Law, or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles, cost management, and contract administration
- Familiarity with international standard forms of contract (FIDIC, NEC, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and cost‑control skills
- Experience preparing and managing claims, variations, and commercial documentation
- Proficiency in QS software such as MS Excel, CostX, CATO, or similar tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder coordination
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines
- Chartered status (e.g., MRICS) is desirable but not mandatory
