Penta Consulting are a technology resource solutions provider to leading OEMs across the EMEA region.
We are seeking an experienced Planning / Scheduling Engineer to support the successful delivery of a large-scale Data Center construction project across multiple sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling project schedules, monitoring progress, performing critical path analysis, and supporting Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
The role requires strong experience in complex construction environments and a proven background working on Data Center projects
, with a thorough understanding of mission-critical facilities, fast-track construction programmes, commissioning activities, and project controls best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Establish baseline programmes for all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Create integrated master schedules covering multiple project sites and work streams.
- Identify critical path activities and monitor schedule risks and opportunities.
- Produce short-term, medium-term, and long-term look-ahead programmes.
- Monitor schedule performance and provide recovery plans where delays are identified.
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure schedule activities accurately reflect site progress.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and measure project progress across both project sites against approved baselines.
- Conduct regular progress reviews with construction, engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports highlighting schedule performance, milestones, critical activities, and risks.
- Generate dashboards and KPI reports for project leadership and clients.
- Perform earned value and productivity analysis where required.
- Analyze schedule variances and recommend corrective actions.
Delay Analysis & EOT Management
- Perform delay impact analysis and critical path assessments.
- Prepare, support, and defend Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
- Evaluate contractor and subcontractor delay claims.
- Conduct forensic schedule reviews and time impact analysis.
- Support commercial and project management teams during claims negotiations and dispute resolution processes.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with project managers, construction managers, design teams, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ensure alignment between procurement activities, construction sequences, and commissioning programmes.
- Participate in project progress meetings and provide scheduling expertise.
- Support project leadership in strategic planning and programme optimization.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience in Planning, Scheduling, or Project Controls within major construction projects.
- Demonstrable experience delivering Data Center projects is mandatory.
- Experience supporting projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.
- Proven track record in:
- Progress tracking and reporting
- Critical path analysis
- Delay analysis
- Extension of Time (EOT) preparation and assessment
- Recovery planning
- Experience working on multi-site or large-scale mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with international contractors, consultants, or data center operators preferred.
