Parsons is hiring a Construction Supervisor
- Mechanical and VT in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a high-rise building assignment within the Construction industry. The supervisor will oversee daily site activities involving HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, elevators, escalators, moving walks, and associated building services. This construction-focused position requires practical knowledge of mechanical installations, vertical transportation, contractor supervision, workmanship inspection, and multidisciplinary sequencing. The successful candidate will help ensure that site activities satisfy approved designs, technical specifications, quality standards, authority regulations, and safety requirements.

Role Context

High-rise construction requires close coordination between mechanical building services and vertical-transportation equipment. HVAC ductwork, pipes, firefighting networks, lift shafts, machine spaces, electrical supplies, and architectural finishes often compete for access within limited areas. The Construction Supervisor will provide consistent field oversight so these activities proceed in the correct sequence and comply with approved requirements. Daily monitoring will help identify defects, access conflicts, delays, and unsafe conditions before they affect later work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily site activities across assigned high-rise building areas.
  • Monitor HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related mechanical installations.
  • Oversee elevator, escalator, and moving-walk installation where included in the project scope.
  • Verify that work follows approved drawings, specifications, and project procedures.
  • Confirm contractor compliance with approved method statements and inspection requirements.
  • Check installation quality, positioning, supports, access, and coordination.
  • Monitor contractor workmanship and resource deployment.
  • Coordinate engineers, inspectors, contractors, subcontractors, and other disciplines.
  • Maintain appropriate sequencing between mechanical, vertical-transportation, electrical, structural, and architectural works.
  • Identify spatial conflicts and incomplete interface requirements.
  • Inspect completed work and record defects or non-conformances.
  • Follow corrective actions through completion and verified closeout.
  • Compare site progress with the approved construction schedule.
  • Report delays, access limitations, design concerns, and resource constraints.
  • Escalate technical matters to the Resident Engineer or Construction Manager.
  • Witness equipment installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning.
  • Support final system handover and completion activities.
  • Maintain daily site records, supervision logs, progress updates, and inspection reports.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and progress-review sessions.
  • Assist project engineers in resolving practical site issues.
  • Verify compliance with local authority requirements and project specifications.
  • Maintain alignment with SAPL construction-supervision procedures.
Ideal Profile

The preferred candidate is an experienced building-services supervisor with practical knowledge of both mechanical and vertical-transportation construction.

  • Diploma or bachelor 's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum eight years of experience on high-rise construction projects.
  • Strong site-supervision background covering mechanical building services.
  • Practical experience with elevators, escalators, or other vertical-transportation systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting installations.
