The successful candidate will coordinate contractors and inspectors while monitoring workmanship, schedule performance, testing, and corrective-action closeout.

Role ContextHigh-rise construction requires each structural and finishing activity to follow a controlled sequence. Defects in concrete, waterproofing, masonry, or facade interfaces can affect later architectural work and create costly rework. The Construction Supervisor will provide daily field oversight from structural execution through final finishes. Consistent inspection, accurate records, and timely coordination will help preserve design intent and prepare completed areas for testing, snagging, and handover.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily site activities across assigned building areas.
- Monitor reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry works.
- Inspect plastering, waterproofing, tiling, painting, ceilings, and joinery.
- Coordinate facade interfaces and associated building components.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings and project specifications.
- Ensure contractors follow approved method statements and inspection procedures.
- Review site workmanship and confirm alignment with quality standards.
- Coordinate engineers, inspectors, contractors, subcontractors, and specialist trades.
- Maintain suitable sequencing between structural, architectural, MEP, and finishing activities.
- Identify incomplete work, defects, and non-conformances.
- Record observations and follow corrective actions through verified closure.
- Compare construction progress with the approved project schedule.
- Report delays, constraints, access issues, and technical concerns.
- Escalate unresolved matters to the Resident Engineer or Construction Manager.
- Witness inspections and testing for structural and architectural works.
- Verify test results and completed work against project acceptance criteria.
- Monitor contractor compliance with HSE and environmental requirements.
- Maintain daily supervision records and progress updates.
- Prepare site-observation reports, snag lists, and follow-up records.
- Support practical resolution of construction and interface issues.
- Participate in coordination meetings, toolbox talks, site walks, and progress reviews.
- Ensure work complies with authority requirements and applicable codes.
- Maintain alignment with SAPL site-supervision procedures.
- Support completion inspections, snagging, closeout, and handover.
The preferred candidate is an experienced building supervisor with practical knowledge spanning structural execution and architectural finishing.
- Diploma or bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum eight years of experience on high-rise building projects.
- Strong site-supervision experience in structural, building, and finishing works.
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel construction.
- Familiarity with masonry, plaster, tiling, painting, ceilings, joinery, and waterproofing.
- Understanding of facade interfaces and related coordination requirements.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
