Job Description:

Parsons is looking for proactive and detail-oriented HSE Coordinator - Saudi National to support the implementation and monitoring of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs for a large-scale airfield/airport development project.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional with approximately 2 years of experience in construction or infrastructure projects, preferably within aviation or similar high-risk environments. The HSE Coordinator will assist in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting safe and environmentally responsible project execution.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Support the implementation of project HSE plans, procedures, and policies in line with regulatory and client requirements.

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with local safety regulations, international standards, and project-specific HSE guidelines.

  • Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to approved safety practices and environmental controls.

  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks, and audits to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.

  • Report findings and assist in tracking corrective and preventive actions.

  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices across all site activities.

  • Assist in the reporting, documentation, and investigation of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.

  • Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate HSE records and logs in line with project requirements.

  • Support the delivery of HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions for site personnel.

  • Promote a positive safety culture and encourage proactive reporting of hazards and near misses.

  • Assist in developing HSE communication materials such as posters, alerts, and bulletins.

  • Assist in monitoring environmental compliance, including waste management, spill prevention, and pollution control measures.

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Support environmental inspections and reporting requirements.

  • Maintain HSE documentation, including inspection reports, permits, risk assessments, and training records.

  • Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports for project management.

  • Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and audit-ready.

  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Permit to Work system.

  • Verify that all required permits (e.g., hot work, confined space, lifting operations) are properly issued and complied with.

  • Coordinate with supervisors to ensure safe execution of high-risk activities.

  • Work closely with site supervisors, engineers, and contractors to promote safe work practices.

  • Support coordination between different teams to ensure consistent HSE standards across the project.

  • Escalate critical safety issues to senior HSE staff promptly.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HSE roles within construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.

  • Exposure to large-scale or high-risk project environments is preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.

  • Familiarity with risk assessments, method statements, and incident reporting processes.

  • Good observation and hazard identification skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a site-based, fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent.
