Construction Manager

Job Description

WSP is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join the PMCM team supporting the delivery of a landmark development in Riyadh. This is a delivery-focused role requiring strong leadership of construction supervision activities, contractor management, stakeholder coordination, and project execution from a consultant/PMC environment.

The successful candidate will act as the Client's representative on site, driving construction progress, quality, safety, and compliance across multiple work fronts while ensuring successful project delivery in accordance with schedule and budget objectives.

• Lead and oversee all site construction activities within the assigned project scope.
• Monitor contractor performance against approved schedules, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
• Drive construction progress and proactively resolve site issues affecting delivery.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, authorities, and client representatives.
• Review and monitor construction methodologies, logistics plans, recovery plans, and sequencing strategies.
• Chair site progress meetings and provide accurate reporting on project performance.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, permits, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor implementation of HSE requirements and project quality standards.
• Review contractor resource deployment and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Manage inspections, testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out activities.
• Support commercial and contract teams regarding claims, variations, delays, and risk mitigation measures.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain delivery targets.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of total experience in construction management.
• Minimum 8 years in a Consultant / PMC / PMCM environment.
• Immediate availability or short notice period.
• Proven experience as Construction Manager, Senior Construction Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Strong experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, public realm, mixed-use, transportation, urban development, or giga projects.
• Extensive experience managing contractors on behalf of the client.
• Strong knowledge of construction supervision, QA/QC, HSE, contract administration, and stakeholder management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Previous GCC experience is essential.
• Saudi Arabia and Riyadh project experience highly preferred.
