Join us as a Lifting Expert in our Transportation Project Delivery team and you will have the opportunity to contribute the delivery of an exciting multi-disciplinary Transportation project. You will collaborate across all stages of the project lifecycle with the Design, Engineering and Construction supervision team and in close coordination with the D&B Contractor overseeing the lifting activities with special emphasis on safety.

Your role
  • Review and supervise the Logistic and Construction plans of the D&B Contractor
  • Review and supervise the Lifting Plans & Method Statements developed by the Design and Build Contractor.
  • Review the design deliverables for constructability.
  • Review the risk assessment developed by the DB Contractor related or including lifting activities, assuring those are properly evaluated and adequate mitigation measures are identified.
  • Assure the DB Contractor choose suitable lifting equipment (slings, shackles, spreader beams, cranes) based on load, geometry, and environment.
  • Carrying out inspection and testing work to industry specifications, whether on site or in workshops of the lifting equipment and tools.
  • Assure that the DB Contractor undertakes toolbox talks and lifting safety briefs, addressing safety risks and robust coordination.
  • Oversee rigging crews during complex or critical lifts.
  • Ensure the lifting activities follow the lifting safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Ensure that personnel have the skills, training and all needed resources, equipment's and tools to conduct routine maintenance activities in safe and effectively manner, according to the contract terms and conditions.
  • Ensure that the PMCM Team, and specially the Construction Supervision Team are well informed of the lifting activities, attend the toolbox talks and safety and lifting safety briefs, and follow the safety rules and procedures while undertaking their supervision duties.
  • Coordinate with the HSE Manager and Head of Construction for incorporating the lifting activities to the reporting activities.
  • Keep a proactive Safety aptitude and behaviour, and contribute in positive to the a culture of safety.
About You
  • Expertise knowledge on lifting equipment and accessories, including mobile cranes, pulling machines, beam trolleys, chain slings, webbing slings and wire rope slings.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • Passion for machinery and the technical aspects of the industry.
  • Able to pick up new systems quickly that may be very technical.
  • High level of organisation and commitment to your work.
  • Good knowledge of inspection and testing techniques with regard to different types of lifting equipment.
  • Good understanding of general engineering.
  • Experience of carrying out method statements and risk assessments.
  • Excellent personal organisational skills and team work.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when completing inspection and examination testing paperwork.
  • Used to work in a fast-paced office environment combining construction supervision works and administration work.
  • Open to adapt to flexible working hours arrangements.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline supporting the required duties, with a minimum of 8 years of experience. Professional registration or chartership preferred (PMP, RICS, PE, CEng, or equivalent) will be considered a plus
  • Experience working in the KSA or wider Middle East region is preferred.
