Position Overview Parsons is hiring a Wet Utilities Inspector
- Mechanical Works in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a site-based Construction role on a major public-realm development in Diriyah. The program includes iconic and neighborhood parks, open spaces, landscaped areas, and more than 55 kilometers of streetscape. The inspector will monitor wet-utility and mechanical works associated with the development, checking workmanship, materials, progress, and compliance.

Any Job Type: Full-time Role Context Parks, landscaping, and streetscape assets depend on correctly installed water, irrigation, drainage, and associated mechanical systems. Poor pipework installation, incomplete testing, or unresolved utility interfaces can damage finishes, interrupt services, and create expensive rework. The Wet Utilities Inspector will provide continuous field assurance across these works. Prompt inspections and reliable documentation will help verify compliance, support timely corrective action, and protect the quality and serviceability of public-realm infrastructure.
- Attend inspection requests submitted by the contractor.
- Inspect completed work promptly and record the appropriate response.
- Assist with reviewing shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications.
- Check compliance with local codes, statutory requirements, and applicable practices.
- Verify wet-utility installations against approved methods and construction details.
- Monitor pipework, fittings, chambers, connections, and associated mechanical components.
- Inspect public-realm and landscape utility interfaces.
- Identify work that does not comply with approved drawings or specifications.
- Report non-compliant activities to relevant engineers and project stakeholders.
- Monitor workmanship, installation quality, and daily site progress.
- Maintain records of inspections, completed work, and field observations.
- Capture progress photographs and organize them for future reference.
- Prepare surveillance reports for defective or incomplete work.
- Raise non-conformance reports when required by project procedures.
- Track observations and corrective actions through verified closure.
- Coordinate wet-utility activities with landscape, civil, drainage, electrical, and structural works.
- Identify interface concerns and support practical site resolutions.
- Provide technical input on discipline-related construction issues.
- Verify contractor compliance with approved method statements.
- Assist with measurement of completed work when requested.
- Observe site-safety procedures during inspections.
- Report unsafe conditions through the approved project process.
- Support completion inspections, snagging, and package closeout.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum seven years of directly related professional experience.
- Practical exposure to landscape, public-realm, or wet-utility works.
- Knowledge of mechanical pipework and utility-installation practices.
- Ability to interpret shop drawings, contract drawings, and specifications.
- Understanding of inspection requests and construction-quality procedures.
- Experience preparing surveillance and non-conformance reports.
- Ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary utility and landscape interfaces.
- Strong site-recording, photography, reporting, and documentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and inspectors.
- Awareness of construction HSE requirements.
