Role Context

The Mechanical Inspector will act as a technical quality control point between design requirements, contractor execution, and regulatory compliance. The role requires disciplined site inspection, accurate reporting, and sound judgment to verify that mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with approved specifications and applicable standards. A major part of the position involves identifying non-conformances before they become costly construction defects.

By reviewing installation quality, witnessing tests, and documenting corrective actions, the inspector will help protect project schedules, asset performance, and long-term reliability. The position also requires close coordination with engineers, project managers, contractors, and other site disciplines. Clear technical communication and consistent documentation will support faster issue resolution, stronger audit readiness, and transparent project controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct systematic inspections of mechanical systems across active construction sites.
  • Verify HVAC and plumbing installations against approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Confirm compliance with Saudi Building Code requirements and applicable international standards.
  • Review installed systems for workmanship, accessibility, functionality, and maintainability.
  • Witness mechanical testing and commissioning activities.
  • Verify test procedures, results, certifications, and supporting technical records.
  • Check equipment installation against manufacturer requirements and approved project documentation.
  • Identify non-conforming work and issue clear recommendations for corrective action.
  • Follow up on outstanding deficiencies until satisfactory closeout is achieved.
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports supported by technical evidence.
  • Maintain organized records of inspections, test results, approvals, and compliance documentation.
  • Review contractor submissions relevant to mechanical installation and inspection activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance and workmanship against contractual quality requirements.
  • Supervise site installation activities where inspection oversight is required.
  • Coordinate with project engineers to resolve technical discrepancies.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary reviews where mechanical systems interface with architectural, structural, or electrical works.
  • Assess construction drawings and technical details before and during installation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schedules, and CAD-generated documentation.
  • Confirm that installed equipment and systems meet approved material and performance requirements.
  • Monitor testing, balancing, and commissioning activities for building mechanical services.
