A leading construction company in Riyadh is seeking an experienced Senior Planning Manager to lead planning and project controls activities across major building and construction projects The successful candidate will oversee schedule development progress monitoring resource planning and performance reporting This role will lead the planning team establish consistent planning standards and work closely with senior management and project stakeholders to address risks and support timely project delivery

Key Responsibilities

Lead planning and scheduling activities establishing procedures reporting standards and project controls requirements Oversee the development review and maintenance of integrated baseline schedules covering engineering procurement construction commissioning and handover Manage and mentor planning engineers allocate responsibilities and review the accuracy and quality of their deliverables Ensure project schedules align with contractual milestones execution strategies and resource availability Review weekly and monthly updates look-ahead programmes and completion forecasts Monitor critical paths schedule variances and emerging risks ensuring corrective actions are identified and followed through Lead the development and evaluation of recovery and acceleration programmes with project teams Oversee resource loading manpower forecasts and productivity monitoring to support execution planning Coordinate with engineering procurement commercial construction and subcontractor teams to resolve scheduling constraints Establish progress measurement methods and oversee management dashboards progress reports and performance indicators Present schedule performance key risks and recommended actions to senior management clients and consultants Oversee delay analyses and provide planning input for extension-of-time submissions in coordination with the contracts team Assess the schedule impact of variations scope changes and revised construction methods Drive improvements in planning processes reporting accuracy and the use of lessons learned

Bachelor s degree in Engineering. Minimum 15 years of planning and project controls experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role. Strong experience in major building and construction projects. Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel. Proven ability to lead planning teams and coordinate complex project schedules. Strong knowledge of baseline development, critical path analysis, progress measurement, resource planning, and forecasting.

Experience overseeing recovery programmes, delay analyses, and management reporting. Good understanding of construction sequencing, procurement timelines, and contractual scheduling obligations. Ability to interpret project performance data and recommend practical corrective actions. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines.
