The Inspector (Civil/Structural) is responsible for providing construction supervision, inspection, and quality assurance services on behalf of the Client under the PMCM framework. The role ensures that all civil and structural works are executed in accordance with approved designs, contract requirements, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, HSE regulations, and project schedules.
The Inspector acts as the Client's site representative for monitoring Contractor activities, verifying construction quality, identifying deficiencies, and supporting the PMCM team in delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Construction Inspection & Supervision- Conduct daily inspections of civil and structural construction activities.
- Verify compliance of works with approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
- Monitor site activities including but not limited:
- Earthworks and excavation
- Foundations and substructures
- Reinforced concrete works
- Structural steel erection
- Masonry and architectural concrete works
- Roads, pavements, and external works
- Utility and infrastructure work
- Ensure works are executed using approved materials, equipment, and construction methodologies.
- Witness inspections, testing, and quality control activities in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Review and verify Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by Contractors.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and PMCM procedures.
- Monitor material deliveries and verify compliance with approved material submittals.
- Witness laboratory and field-testing activities.
- Identify non-conforming works and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in the issuance and close-out of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs), and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
- Verify rectification and completion of defective works.
- Monitor Contractor compliance with contract requirements and approved construction schedules.
- Assist Engineers in recording delays, deviations, variations, and potential claims.
- Verify quantities and progress of completed works for reporting purposes.
- Maintain records supporting project payment certifications and progress assessments.
- Monitor field activities for compliance with approved HSE plans and procedures.
- Identify unsafe practices, conditions, and environmental violations.
- Report on safety concerns to the Resident Engineer and HSE team.
- Support implementation of project safety initiatives and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with PMCM Engineers, Contractors, Design Consultants, Stakeholders, and Client representatives.
- Attend construction progress meetings and technical coordination meetings as required.
- Assist in resolving site construction issues and interface conflicts.
- Provide technical feedback regarding constructability and workmanship matters.
