Saudi Services for Electro Mechanic Works Co. (SSEM) is looking for an experienced Safety Officer to manage HSE requirements and compliance on our project sites.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect the work site daily and correct unsafe methods and conditions
- Stop the job whenever unsafe acts or conditions are noticed
- Perform Toolbox Talks (TBT) and keep records of all daily and weekly safety meetings
- Review the work permit system before tasks proceed
- Monitor the correct use and timely removal of safety barriers, and make sure signage is visible at risk areas
- Maintain inspection and testing records for equipment and tools, and carry out tool color coding
- Join daily and weekly safety audits and make sure reported unsafe acts and conditions are corrected
- Maintain a safety discrepancy logbook in each work area
- Issue daily, weekly and monthly safety reports (incidents, hazards, near misses, manpower and man-hours) to the Client Safety Representative
- Assist the Site Safety Supervisor in training employees
- Follow the client’s required safety officer ratio of 1:50
- Report to the Site Safety Manager, Engineer or Supervisor
- Diploma or above
- At least 5 years of experience
- HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH or OSHA 30 Hours
- Knowledge of the construction industry
- Good communication and monitoring skills
- Able to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
