BOQ Senior Associate – Design Department
Job PurposeQuantify materials and works and estimate their costs for branch openings and renovations, based on drawings and specifications, while supporting the Design team in preparing budgets, comparing alternatives, and controlling costs.
Responsibilities and TasksReview architectural drawings, interior design drawings, and related systems, and accurately extract the required quantities.
Prepare and update BOQ quantity schedules for works, materials, and services.
Quantify construction and finishing works, and review the MEP scope for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items.
Estimate material and labor costs based on available pricing and approved specifications.
Review and compare quotations against quantities and specifications, and clarify differences.
Propose suitable alternatives for materials or execution methods that help reduce cost without affecting quality or design requirements.
Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, and contractors teams to confirm the scope of work and quantities.
Update quantity schedules and estimates when drawings or the project scope are revised.
Prepare clear reports on quantities, costs, assumptions, and potential risks.
Manage quantity takeoff activities for multiple projects in parallel and deliver them according to the specified timelines.
Use Excel to prepare schedules and analyze costs, and AutoCAD to review drawings and measure quantities.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience of 6 to 8 years in quantity surveying or Quantity Surveyor works.
Proficiency in reading architectural drawings and interior design drawings.
Experience in preparing and reviewing BOQ quantity schedules.
Knowledge of civil works and finishing specifications and MEP systems.
Proficiency in Excel and good knowledge of AutoCAD
.Knowledge of material and service pricing and the ability to evaluate alternatives from a cost perspective.
High accuracy, strong organizational and project management skills, and commitment to deadlines.
