Freelance Art Director

About The Role

Monks Middle East is seeking a Freelance Senior Art Director based in Riyadh to join our ever‑growing creative & content team. In this role, you will design, create, manipulate and tailor graphics, images, sound, animation, video and texts to create integrated multimedia for social‑first content that brightens and engages audiences across our client social feeds. You will combine design skills with technical knowledge to develop relevant, meaningful and strikingly awesome fit‑for‑purpose designs across multimedia formats.

Minimum experience 4 years. Arabic and English fluency is mandatory. You will be able to interpret a client brief, story‑board, prepare design concepts, produce digital collateral, create short videos, and shape the visual approach for our clients. Comfortable with basic shooting equipment for live coverage, interviews, social content, and video creation, including both filming and photography. Proficiency in related equipment and software is mandatory.

• You will be a part of the social content development team working alongside the designers, copywriters and other AVs to create content aligned with the social brand content strategy.
• You’ll help to shape the way forward for motion graphics within the team inspiring and collaborating with the AV team to produce top‑class content.
• You’ll help the team in the conception of creative audiovisual ideas based on the objectives to be communicated and actively participate in the development of audiovisual content and post‑production content which is fit for feed.
• You’ll produce high‑quality deliverables such as effects, motion graphic guidelines and innovative new techniques that can be used across the team.
• You have a passion for taking the ordinary and making it extraordinary through movement.
• You make sure all designs are in line with the project’s objectives and client expectations.

• You have experience working as a multimedia designer at a high, international level.
• You are fluent in both English & Arabic (written and spoken).
• You have an advanced level of understanding related to motion graphic design and video editing. Basic shooting level hardware and software.
• Experience on colour correction and knowledge on audio editing.
• 2D and 3D animation is advantageous but not mandatory.
• You are entrepreneurial in nature and will find a way to create content which exceeds any limitations.

• You’re always up‑to‑date with the latest (motion design) trends and innovations.
• You bring your Arabic touch and market‑relevant insights to all creative content you produce.
• You’re meticulous in your process, and have an eagle‑eye for detail.
• Last but not least, you are a true team player with very likable social skills.
