Senior Architect Engineer; Interiors

Role Purpose

The Senior Interior Design Engineers provides discipline‑specific leadership for interior design and fit‑out works, ensuring all interior elements are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, design intent, and contract requirements.

Reporting to the Snr. Design / Technical Manager and working under the direction of Technical Coordinators, the role is responsible for reviewing interior shop drawings, materials, finishes, mock‑ups, and samples, supporting as‑built documentation, responding to RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), and Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), and carrying out site inspections and technical reporting related to interior and fit‑out works.

The role ensures that interior design intent is effectively translated into high‑quality, coordinated, and buildable site execution, including close control of finishes, detailing, and interface coordination with all disciplines.

• Provide day‑to‑day interior design and fit‑out support on site, addressing construction queries, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
• Review interior works on site (finishes, partitions, ceilings, joinery, FF&E interfaces) to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, mock‑ups, and samples.
• Identify site issues, detailing conflicts, or non‑conformances and drive resolution in coordination with project teams.
• Coordinate interior works with architectural, structural, MEPF, façade, and specialist fit‑out packages to avoid clashes and execution conflicts.
• Support snagging, inspections, and quality reviews of interior finishes and fit‑out works.
• Provide technical input, sketches, or mark‑ups where required to resolve site issues and ensure continuity of works.

• Review interior shop drawings, material submittals, finishes, samples, and method statements for compliance with approved design intent and specifications.
• Provide clear and practical technical comments to support timely approvals and construction progress.
• Verify that approved materials, finishes, and details are correctly implemented on site.
• Support preparation, review, and validation of interior as‑built drawings and records.
• Assist Technical Coordinators in tracking submittals and closing out review comments.

• Prepare and support responses to RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), and site clarifications related to interior and fit‑out works.
• Assist in the investigation and close‑out of NCRs, observations, and quality issues related to finishes and detailing.
• Propose practical, buildable interior solutions that maintain design intent while addressing site constraints.
• Maintain accurate records of technical responses and site‑related decisions.

• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers on interior and fit‑out matters.
• Interface with all disciplines to ensure coordinated delivery of interior spaces.
• Attend coordination meetings, mock‑up reviews, and progress meetings as required.
• Ensure interior technical information is clearly communicated through approved workflows.
• Contribute to lessons learned related to interior detailing, materials, and fit‑out execution.
• Support mentoring and technical guidance of junior engineers and site staff.
• Promote best practices in interior construction quality, finishes, and detailing standards.

• Design & Build projects with significant interior design and fit‑out scope
• Multidisciplinary coordination across design and construction stages
• High‑end finishes, hospitality, commercial, or complex interior environments (preferred)

• Minimum 10–12 years of relevant experience in interior design and fit‑out within construction or Design & Build environments
• Strong experience in shop drawing review, material approvals, and site‑based interior delivery
• Proven experience coordinating interior works with architectural and MEP systems
