Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Landscape Architect to join our team! In this role you will get to work within a new PMO working on major highways/infrastructure projects in the KSA Capital, Riyadh City.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Oversee landscape architecture components of multiple road infrastructure projects (public realm, sidewalks, bridges, cladding, and interchanges) within the Riyadh Road Program, ensuring design integrity and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Lead technical reviews of landscape designs prepared by third‑party design firms, recommending updates or revisions where required, and ensuring alignment with PMO standards.
  • Coordinate with external designers and internal disciplines (road, utility, drainage, electrical, architectural) to resolve conflicts and optimize landscape integration.
  • Supervise the landscape aspects of projects where designs are already completed and awarded, ensuring implementation aligns with approved tender documentation.
  • Develop strategies for consistent landscape quality and character across the program while addressing local site conditions and design constraints.
  • Participate in recruitment and staffing efforts, including CV screening, interviews, hiring recommendations, and preparing performance evaluations for junior staff and potential candidates.
  • Engage with the client to communicate complex landscape design issues, prepare and deliver technical presentations outlining proposed design solutions, progress reports, and critical decision points throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead the visual coordination and specification of architectural finishes for exposed structural elements, including architectural cladding systems, surface treatments, and concrete structure aesthetics such as pigment integration, form liner textures, and graphic or mural applications, in alignment with the overall landscape and urban design vision.
  • Monitor contractor performance, assess site readiness for landscape works (civil completion, utilities clearance, soil preparation), and ensure sequencing aligns with program timelines to avoid rework and delays.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field (e.g., Urban Design) with proven studies specifically related to Landscape Architecture, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture specialized in Landscape Design.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, with significant involvement in infrastructure and large‑scale urban projects, including at least 3 years of experience within the Gulf countries.
  • Extensive technical expertise in softscape/hardscape integration, irrigation, site grading, environmental mitigation strategies, and the aesthetic specification of architectural cladding systems—including color theory application, graphic overlay techniques, surface material behavior, and integration with civil/structural elements.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and preferably familiar with BIM tools (Revit, Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D) and GIS.
  • Proven experience with Authority approvals, site inspections, structure details, execution practices, and cross‑disciplinary project leadership.
  • Proven experience in BOQ preparation and review, cost control, and value engineering for landscape works, ensuring alignment with project budgets without compromising design intent or performance.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Previous experience of working in a PMCM structured environment or acting as a PMO member.
  • Proven technical skills across all landscape design stages, execution challenges, site working procedures, materials approvals, and civil detailing.
  • Knowledge of International codes and standards related to landscape design…
