About the Role:

ABYAT is looking for a customer‑focused Design Consultant to join our Projects team. This role combines interior design expertise with sales and customer relationship management in a showroom environment.

The Design Consultant will guide customers throughout their design journey, from the initial consultation and design proposal to order confirmation, delivery, installation, and final handover. The role involves presenting ABYAT’s design library, recommending suitable design solutions, and ensuring each proposal aligns with the customer’s space, preferences, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome customers attending scheduled online appointments and understand their design requirements, space specifications, preferences, and budget.
  • Present ABYAT’s design library, including approved collections, substyles, mood boards, and completed designs.
  • Recommend suitable design concepts and directions based on customer needs, functional requirements, and budget.
  • Develop design proposals using approved collections and guidelines provided by the Design Hub.
  • Prepare space plans, material and finish selections, and visual presentations to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Translate the agreed design direction into a design ticket, ensuring all required information is documented.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and quotations, discuss pricing, negotiate where appropriate, and convert proposals into confirmed orders.
  • Manage customer relationships throughout the entire process, following up on orders through delivery, installation, and final handover.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal teams to support a smooth and consistent customer experience.
  • Share customer feedback and showroom insights with the Design Hub, including customer preferences, frequently requested designs, and rejected options, to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in interior design, preferably within a showroom, retail, or sales‑oriented environment.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating interior design concepts, space planning, and visual presentations.
  • Good knowledge of interior design materials, finishes, and product selections.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and presentation tools.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage confidently with walk‑in customers.
  • Sales‑oriented mindset with the ability to negotiate, build customer relationships, and close orders.
  • Ability to follow approved design standards, collections, and established processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ownership of the customer journey from consultation to handover.
