Role ContextThe Consultant Dermatologist will provide specialist assessment and treatment for patients presenting with a diverse range of dermatological conditions. Clinical responsibility extends from initial consultation and differential diagnosis through treatment selection, appropriate procedures, counseling, and structured follow-up. This role contributes directly to accurate diagnosis, effective disease management, patient safety, and continuity of specialist care. Particular attention will be given to patients with persistent, recurrent, or complex dermatological conditions requiring advanced clinical judgment and individualized management.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive dermatology consultations and review relevant patient histories.
- Examine and assess patients presenting with a broad range of dermatological conditions.
- Diagnose acute, chronic, recurrent, and complex skin disorders.
- Establish differential diagnoses and determine appropriate investigations when necessary.
- Develop individualized treatment plans according to clinical findings and patient requirements.
- Manage complex dermatology cases requiring advanced specialist expertise.
- Provide continuing care for patients with chronic dermatological conditions.
- Perform appropriate dermatological procedures within the authorized scope of specialist practice.
- Review relevant diagnostic results and incorporate findings into clinical decisions.
- Prescribe appropriate treatments and monitor therapeutic response.
- Adjust management plans according to patient progress and changing clinical requirements.
- Counsel patients regarding diagnoses, treatment alternatives, procedures, and expected outcomes.
- Provide guidance on treatment adherence, ongoing skin care, and relevant preventive measures.
- Conduct follow-up consultations to evaluate treatment effectiveness and disease progression.
- Identify complications or adverse treatment responses and initiate appropriate clinical action.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records for consultations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Protect patient confidentiality and uphold professional medical standards.
- Coordinate with other specialists when broader medical assessment or treatment is required.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

The successful candidate should hold an MD, DNB, Board certification, Fellowship, PhD, or equivalent recognized higher specialty qualification in Dermatology. Several years of professional Dermatology experience are required, including substantial post-qualification clinical practice. Candidates should demonstrate strong diagnostic ability and practical experience managing varied dermatological presentations, including chronic and complex cases. The Consultant should be competent in appropriate dermatological procedures and capable of developing personalized treatment strategies based on clinical findings.
