The Consultant Plastic Surgeon will provide specialist care across the complete surgical pathway, beginning with detailed consultation and clinical assessment and continuing through diagnosis, procedure planning, operative treatment, postoperative management, and recovery monitoring. The position has a direct impact on surgical safety, functional outcomes, continuity of care, and patient confidence. Effective collaboration with anesthesia, nursing, and other medical specialties will be essential when managing cases that require coordinated multidisciplinary treatment.

• Conduct specialist consultations and comprehensive patient assessments.
• Review medical histories, clinical findings, and relevant diagnostic information.
• Establish appropriate diagnoses and determine suitable treatment options.
• Develop individualized surgical and non-surgical treatment plans according to patient needs.
• Assess patient suitability for plastic, reconstructive, and related surgical procedures.
• Explain proposed procedures, expected outcomes, potential risks, and recovery requirements.
• Perform plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures within the approved specialist scope of practice.
• Coordinate pre-operative investigations and ensure appropriate surgical preparation.
• Provide comprehensive pre-operative clinical management and patient guidance.
• Work closely with anesthesia, operating theatre, nursing, and supporting medical teams.
• Deliver appropriate post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery.
• Assess wound healing, recovery progress, and treatment outcomes during follow-up consultations.
• Identify postoperative concerns or complications and initiate appropriate clinical management.
• Modify recovery or treatment plans when patient progress requires adjustment.
• Maintain accurate consultation notes, operative reports, treatment plans, and follow-up documentation.
• Protect patient confidentiality and uphold professional medical standards.
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical quality, and surgical practice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams when cases require additional specialist input.

The successful candidate should hold an MD, DNB, Board certification, Fellowship, or equivalent recognized qualification in Plastic Surgery. Several years of relevant professional experience are required, including substantial post-specialization practice. Candidates should demonstrate strong capability in patient assessment, diagnosis, surgical planning, plastic surgery, reconstructive procedures, postoperative management, and follow-up care. The position requires sound clinical judgment and the ability to determine appropriate surgical indications while communicating clearly with patients regarding procedures, potential outcomes, and recovery expectations.
