Job Role s and Key Responsibilities General Responsibilities
- Maintain strong industry connections and a robust professional network within the Arts management field to support program development, collaboration, and partnership opportunities.
- Provide academic and administrative leadership for the Arts management program(s), ensuring effective management and coordination of all program activities.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for the program’s development, delivery, and continuous improvement, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Represent the program in internal and external university forums, committees, and stakeholder engagements.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive academic environment that promotes student success and faculty development.
- Lead the design, development, and review of the Arts management curriculum to ensure quality, relevance, and compliance with NQF and accreditation standards.
- Contribute to teaching within the program as appropriate, ensuring direct engagement with students and maintaining subject currency.
- Collaborate with external and international partners to enhance the program’s profile and relevance, without reliance on them.
- Support student recruitment strategies by liaising with Marketing, Admissions, and Recruitment teams to meet enrollment targets.
- Drive initiatives that contribute to the university’s broader strategic goals, including innovation, excellence, and international alignment.
- Contribute to shaping a future-oriented academic vision within the College.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of Arts management program delivery, including teaching schedules, resource planning, budget oversight, and use of technical production equipment.
- Monitor teaching quality, learning outcomes, and assessment practices in the Arts management program to ensure continuous quality enhancement.
- Provide academic guidance and line‑management support to faculty members involved in the Arts management program.
- Analyze student performance and feedback data in the Arts management program to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare comprehensive program reports and documentation required for internal quality reviews and external accreditation bodies.
- Experience in curriculum planning, management, and execution for Arts management program.
- Experienced in planning and managing resources, including staff, time, facilities, and budgets within the Arts management program.
- Proficient in analyzing student performance and feedback to inform program adjustments and improvements.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and support faculty and administrative staff involved in the Arts management program.
- Clear, concise, and effective communication, both written and verbal, with students, faculty, and industry partners in the Arts management sector.
- Collaboration and teamwork with faculty, production staff, and external creative partners.
- Demonstrates ethical leadership, accountability, and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
- Negotiation skills for partnerships, industry collaborations, and resource allocations.
- Networking and relationship‑building within the local and international Arts management industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Media, Business, Management, or a closely related field; a Master’s or PhD is preferred.
Candidates may come from :
- an arts‑related academic background with professional experience in business or management within the creative sector, or
- a business / management academic background with substantial engagement in arts, culture, or creative industries.
- Proven experience in academic program design, teaching, and quality assurance within the Arts management or media sector.
- Knowledge of Arts management industry standards and relevant Accreditation Standards.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, including the ability to manage production resources and technical equipment.
- Commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and continuous improvement in Arts management education and practice.
