The RoleWe are currently recruiting a Temporary English Teacher to support our academic delivery during peak periods and programme rollouts.
This role is ideal for a passionate educator experienced in General English and Academic English
, with the ability to quickly engage learners and deliver high-quality lessons in a dynamic environment.
You’ll play a key role in preparing students for academic study, language proficiency, and real-world communication, with a focus on Pre-sessional and EAP programmes where required.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Delivery- Plan and deliver engaging, student-focused English lessons
- Develop learners’ skills across:
Reading, writing, listening, and speaking - Academic vocabulary and foundational study skills
- Focus on areas such as:
Paragraph writing, Skimming and scanning techniques - Adapt teaching to meet diverse learner needs and cultural contexts
- Ensure lessons align with EP academic standards and learning outcomes
(For suitably qualified candidates)
- Teach academic writing, essay structure, referencing, and paraphrasing
- Build students’
critical thinking, research, and seminar skills - Prepare learners for expectations in global higher education environments
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
- Provide guidance to help students develop independent learning habits
- Encourage participation, confidence, and curiosity
- Mark student work in line with programme criteria
- Provide timely, constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate student records and support academic progress tracking
- Support academic teams with:
Placement testing and progress monitoring - Participate in team meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree (essential)
- CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent (essential)
- 1–3 years teaching experience (General or Academic English)
- Experience with intensive or short-term programmes is an advantage
- Familiarity with IELTS / academic English requirements
- Strong understanding of communicative teaching methodologies
- Comfortable using classroom technology and digital learning platforms
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly
- Cultural awareness and professionalism in diverse environments
