Job Summary

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an Arabic Teacher to join their school. We are searching for a passionate and dependable Arabic Teacher to join our client. The Arabic teacher’s responsibilities include teaching oral and written Arabic, tailoring lesson plans to individual students or classes, and setting homework and assessments. You should be able to juggle a wide range of responsibilities including administrative tasks.

To be successful as an Arabic teacher, you should be passionate about the Arabic language and culture. Outstanding Arabic teachers are energetic and able to inspire passion for the language in their students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning, Teaching and Learning:
    Planning for outstanding teaching and learning through creating a climate for learning that is conducive for outstanding practice.
  • Identifying clear teaching and learning objectives.
  • Setting tasks which challenge students and ensure high levels of interest.
  • Setting appropriate and demanding expectations.
  • Setting clear targets, building on prior attainment.
  • Identifying SEN or very able students and ensuring their needs are met through differentiation.
  • Providing clear structures for lessons, maintaining pace, motivation and challenge.
  • Making effective use of assessment for learning.
  • Making effective use of performance data and key indicators to inform planning and therefore deliver differentiated lessons.
  • Maintaining discipline in accordance with the school’s Behavior for Learning Policy and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behavior, standards of work and homework.
  • Using a variety of teaching strategies to match approach to content, structure information, present a set of key ideas and use appropriate vocabulary.
  • Using effective questioning, listening carefully to students, giving attention to errors and misconceptions.
  • Selecting appropriate learning resources and developing study skills through library, ICT and other learning.
  • Reflecting on and evaluating own teaching to improve effectiveness; monitoring, assessment, recording, reporting.
  • Assessing how well learning objectives have been achieved and using them to improve specific aspects of teaching.
  • Marking students’ work at least once every two weeks and setting targets for progress.
  • Using performance data to inform planning and therefore ensuring Learning and Teaching continues to add value.
  • Assessing and recording students’ progress systematically, keeping records to check work is understood and completed, monitoring strengths and areas for development, informing planning and recognizing the level at which the student is achieving.
  • Undertaking assessment of students as requested by examination bodies, departmental and school procedures.
  • Preparing and presenting informative reports to parents.
Curriculum Development

Take part in subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work. Keep subject knowledge up-to-date through CPD and professional reading. Attend professional development workshops as appropriate.

Other Professional Requirements
  • Operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school.
  • Establish effective working relationships with colleagues and set an outstanding example to stakeholders through personal and professional conduct.
  • Take part in the Extra Curricular program by offering at least one after-school activity each term.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through effective participation in meetings, marketing and liaison activities such as Open Evenings, Parents Evenings and events with partner schools.
  • Undertake staff duties in line with the duty rota.
  • Undertake exam invigilation duties as required.
  • Cover for absent colleagues as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in relevant field is required.
  • Experience – minimum 2-5 years.
  • Competence in using a computer and capability to integrate technology into teaching effectively.
  • Teaching License is required.
  • Ability to relate to students, professional staff, parents/guardians, and members of the wider Schools’ community.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the Principal or Head of Department as appropriate.
