Job Summary
As an English Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of academic excellence and student engagement. Your responsibilities will include meticulously planning and delivering lessons that cater to diverse learning needs, assessing student progress, and contributing to curriculum development. By maintaining high standards of teaching, embracing technology as an enabler, and actively engaging with students and parents, you will contribute to the school’s mission of providing a top-tier education experience.

- Lesson Planning – design and deliver lessons that create a conducive learning environment, set clear objectives, and challenge students.
- Teaching and Learning – match teaching approach to content, use varied strategies, manage classroom dynamics, employ effective questioning and listening skills, provide clear structures for lessons, maintain pace, motivation and challenge.
- Assessment – monitor, record and report progress, use learning objectives and performance data to inform lessons, mark students’ work at least once every two weeks, and prepare reports for parents.
- Curriculum Development – take part in subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work; keep subject knowledge up‑to‑date through CPD.
- School Life – maintain discipline per the school’s “Behavior for Learning Policy,” encourage good practice in punctuality and standards of work, support extracurricular programs by offering at least one after‑school activity each term, participate in meetings, marketing, liaison activities, open evenings and events with partner schools.
- Staff & Exam Duties – cover for absent colleagues, perform exam invigilation duties, and undertake other staff duties in line with the duty rota.
- Operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school.
- Establish effective working relationships with colleagues and set an outstanding example to stakeholders through personal and professional conduct.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through effective participation in meetings, marketing and liaison activities such as open evenings, parents evenings and events with partner schools.
- Undertake staff duties in line with the duty rota, exam invigilation duties as required and cover for absent colleagues.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience.
- Competence in using computers and capability to integrate technology into teaching.
- Teaching licence required.
- Ability to relate to students, professional staff, parents/guardians, and members of the wider Riyadh Schools’ community.
- Willingness to undertake additional duties as required by the Principal or Head of Department.
