The Teaching & Learning Excellence Center Lead provides strategic, academic, and operational leadership for the development and advancement of institutional teaching and learning excellence.

The role is responsible for establishing a sustainable framework for educational enhancement, strengthening faculty teaching capabilities, promoting evidence-informed pedagogical practices, advancing innovative learning approaches, and fostering a culture of continuous academic improvement.

The position leads institution-wide initiatives that enhance teaching effectiveness, improve student learning experiences and outcomes, and support the achievement of institutional strategic priorities, quality assurance requirements, and international standards of excellence in higher education.

A. Strategic Leadership and Institutional Development

• Lead the development and implementation of the Center's strategic and operational plans.
• Establish institutional frameworks, policies, and guidelines for teaching and learning excellence.
• Translate institutional academic priorities into measurable teaching and learning initiatives.
• Provide strategic advice to senior academic leadership on educational development and innovation.
• Lead institutional change initiatives that promote a culture of teaching excellence and continuous improvement.
• Develop strategic partnerships with local and international higher education institutions and professional organizations.

B. Faculty Development and Academic Professional Learning

• Design and oversee comprehensive faculty professional development programs.
• Establish structured faculty development pathways aligned with international professional standards.
• Lead initiatives to enhance pedagogical competencies, instructional effectiveness, and academic practice.
• Promote professional recognition and teaching excellence initiatives, including alignment with Advance HE Fellowship pathways.
• Develop mentoring, peer observation, and communities of practice to support faculty development.
• Evaluate the impact of faculty development initiatives on teaching performance and student learning.

C. Teaching and Learning Innovation

• Lead the adoption of evidence-informed teaching and learning methodologies.
• Promote student-centered learning, active learning, experiential learning, and inclusive pedagogical practices.
• Advance the integration of educational technologies, digital learning, and artificial intelligence in teaching.
• Support innovative approaches to blended, hybrid, and online learning.
• Encourage educational experimentation, innovation, and the dissemination of effective teaching practices.
