Responsibilities
Ensure optimal performance of diesel generators through regular monitoring of fuel levels, oil pressure and coolant temperature.
Conduct routine maintenance checks including filter replacements, battery servicing and exhaust system inspections to prevent breakdowns.
Respond promptly to generator alarms and malfunctions, diagnosing issues and implementing effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
Operate generators safely and efficiently during power outages or for load testing, adhering to all safety protocols and operational procedures.
Maintain accurate logs of generator operation, maintenance activities, fuel consumption and any encountered issues for record‑keeping and analysis.
Perform pre‑operational checks to verify the generator’s readiness and identify any potential problems before starting operation.
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals to restore generator functionality.
Hold relevant certifications such as Certified Diesel Mechanic or equivalent industry‑recognized credentials.
QualificationsExperience working with various brands and models of diesel generators, understanding their unique operational parameters.
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, multimeters and hand/power tools for troubleshooting and repairs.
Strong understanding of diesel engine principles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
Excellent problem‑solving abilities to quickly identify and resolve generator issues under pressure.
Additional InformationOperates, monitors, and performs routine checks on standby and main generators.
