The Site Manager plans and coordinates site management and engineering activities to ensure that the building, site services and processing equipment are installed and commissioned into full production to meet the client’s specifications, within the contract schedule, budget and quality in a safe manner.
The Site Manager is also expected to facilitate innovation and improvements in Site Excellence procedures and Site Safety practices in accordance with the company and engineering strategies.

Tasks and responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain site documentation, manning levels, progress reporting, hit lists preparation and updates.
- Review drawings and plans for mechanical and electrical installations ensuring all drawings and information present.
- Maintain and distribute drawings and design documentation.
- Liaise with client, liaise with the builder and sub-contractors.
- Co-ordinate on site activities with sub-contractors and the builder.
- Manage and maintain site inventory of Dematic supplied equipment.
- Ensure installation progress is in line with the project schedule.
- Advice to project managers regarding progress claims from sub-contractors.
- Management of sub-contractors to minimize overall project costs.
- Coordinate regular inspection of works for quality assurance.
- Implement commissioning test schedule.
- Co-ordinate system testing.
- Obtain necessary materials or resources.
- Ensure safe installation procedures are adhered to.
- Maintain good industrial relations.
- Prepare Hazard Assessment of Installation Procedures.
- Proactively promoting innovation, improvement, risk identification and safety management covering Workplace Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Ensure that work areas and equipment, under your control, are safe and without risk to health and safety.
- Minimize environmental impacts & prevent pollution.
- Ensure all hazards and incidents are identified, assessed, controlled and reported via Dematic’s reporting process.
- Provide appropriate instruction, information, training and supervision to workers, contractors, business partners, students and others to enable work to be carried out safely.
