This is not a design role
, it’s a position focused on reviewing, supervising, and coordinating all lighting activities on-site to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery.

We are seeking a Lead Lighting Engineer to join our Design Review Team and take ownership of lighting design quality for a prestigious project and most iconic project in Riyadh.

In this senior role, you will be responsible for leading the review and coordination of lighting systems, including architectural, façade, infrastructure lighting.

You will collaborate closely with architect, MEP teams, client and contractor to ensure design integrity, compliance, and innovative lighting solutions that enhance the built environment.

• Act as the primary lighting point of contact on-site for contractors, consultants, suppliers, and client representatives.
• Lead the technical review of lighting design packages at concept, schematic, detailed, and IFC stages.
• Review lighting layouts, photometric studies, fixture schedules, and lighting control systems for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure designs adhere to international standards (CIBSE, IES, EN) and project specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design issues and maintain multidisciplinary alignment.
• Prepare detailed review reports and track closure of design comments.
• Implement the firm’s QA/QC design review processes, checklists, and reporting templates.
• Participate in submittal and construction reviews to ensure design intent is maintained throughout the project.
• Facilitate coordination between MEP, contracting and architectural teams to ensure lighting integration is seamless.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical input related to lighting execution.
• Review shop drawings, method statements, mock-ups, and material submittals for lighting systems.
• Ensure all lighting components and systems meet project specifications and standards.
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover processes with detailed documentation.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Lighting Design.
• 10–15 years of professional experience in lighting design and engineering, with 5+ years in a consultancy or design review role.
• Proven experience in architectural, façade, landscape, and infrastructure lighting for large and complex projects.
• Strong command of DIALux, Relux, AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office.
• Familiarity with BIM coordination and smart lighting controls.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with international lighting standards and local regulations.
