GIS specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical GIS Specialist to join our Project Management Office (PMO) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As a key member of our GIS team, you will utilise your expertise in Geographic Information Systems to support and enhance our landscape development projects.

• Develop and maintain GIS databases, maps, and spatial analyses to support urban planning and design initiatives
• Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and project managers to integrate GIS data into planning processes
• Conduct spatial analysis and create high-quality maps and visualisations for project presentations and reports
• Manage and analyse complex datasets related to land use, zoning, infrastructure, and environmental factors
• Support the PMO by providing GIS-based insights for project planning, monitoring, and decision-making
• Develop and implement GIS-based solutions to optimise planning, design, construction and operation processes and workflows
• Stay current with GIS technologies for urban forestry and asset management trends, recommending innovative approaches when appropriate
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian urban planning regulations and policies in all GIS-related activities
• Provide technical support and training to team members on GIS tools and applications
• Review GIS submissions and GIS-related reports in all projects

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Geomatics, Urban Planning, or a related field; master’s degree preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in GIS and urban planning, preferably in a project management environment
• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS and QGIS, with the ability to perform advanced spatial analysis and mapping
• Strong knowledge of urban development principles, land use planning, and spatial data analysis
• Experience with remote sensing, image interpretation, and CAD software
• Excellent data management skills, including the ability to work with large and complex datasets
• Familiarity with project management methodologies and PMO processes
• Knowledge of Saudi Arabian urban planning regulations and policies is highly desirable
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• GIS Professional (GISP) certification is a plus
