The Planning Engineer is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and updating project schedules to support the successful delivery of construction and infrastructure projects at Taj Dhabi. This role focuses on ensuring project timelines, resources, and progress are accurately planned and tracked, while supporting the project team in identifying risks, delays, and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and update baseline project schedules using Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
- Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to collect and update project progress data.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule and highlight any delays or variances.
- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly progress reports, including dashboards and forecasts.
- Support in preparing recovery plans and revised schedules when required.
- Prepare and maintain resource-loaded schedules and cash flow curves.
- Assist in the preparation of time impact analyses and extension of time (EOT) claims.
- Track project milestones and critical paths to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinate with cost control and procurement teams to align schedules with budgets and material deliveries.
- Attend progress meetings and provide planning input for decision-making.
- Maintain updated planning records, including schedules, reports, and progress data.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in project planning within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office applications.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling techniques and construction workflows.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and standard planning practices.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
- Based at the head office with regular visits to project sites.
- Requires coordination with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and procurement departments.
- Deadline-driven environment with medium- to large-scale construction projects.
