Senior Environmental and Sustainability Engineer

Overview

We are currently recruiting a Senior Environmental and Sustainability Engineer to join our team in Riyadh for an Iconic Project. The Environmental and Sustainability Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the implementation of all environmental and sustainability requirements during the construction phase.

• Lead handover meetings with the contractor’s sustainability and environmental teams to communicate project-specific targets, deliverables, and compliance requirements.
• Clarify applicable sustainability credits and environmental performance requirements.
• Define documentation protocols for both sustainability and environmental compliance.
• Ensure understanding of multi-building project approach and credit applicability.
• Ensure timely registration under applicable sustainability rating systems and environmental approvals.
• Coordinate with design and construction teams to integrate environmental protection measures and sustainability requirements into shop drawings and method statements.
• Oversee and verify compliance in material submittals, procurement processes, and environmental product declarations.
• Monitor implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Waste Management Plan, and Pollution Prevention Plan, ensuring full alignment with sustainability targets and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular environmental and sustainability audits per the applicable rating systems (e.g., LEED, Mostadam, GSAS) and environmental legislation.
• Review final documentation packages for both environmental compliance and sustainability credits before submission for approval.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Architecture, or related field; master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 10–15 years of relevant experience in sustainability roles within large-scale construction supervision projects.
• Professional accreditation in at least one sustainability rating system (e.g., LEED AP, Mostadam, GSAS, BREEAM, etc.).
• Proven experience in managing sustainability compliance during construction, with hands-on knowledge of documentation, audits, and contractor coordination.
• Strong understanding of regional environmental regulations and project-specific sustainability requirements.
