- Inspect, verify, and document all construction materials delivered to the site
- Ensure materials comply with approved specifications, standards, and project requirements
- Monitor material handling, storage, and preservation on-site to prevent damage or deterioration
- Review material submittals, certificates, and test reports submitted by contractors
- Conduct sampling and testing of materials (e.g., concrete, asphalt, aggregates, steel) in coordination with the laboratory
- Report non-compliance or defective materials and coordinate corrective actions with contractors
- Maintain an organized record of inspections, approvals, and material certificates
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and tracking of materials used in the project
- Coordinate with design, planning, and site teams to resolve material-related issues
- Support quality assurance and control procedures for the project
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly material inspection reports to PMC management
- Participate in client inspections and audits regarding material compliance
- Verify contractors follow proper testing, mixing, and handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards during material handling
- Assist in preparation of as-built material documentation for project closeout
- Provide guidance to junior material inspectors and site staff
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers for technical clarifications on materials
- Review and verify calibration and certification of testing equipment
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience as a Material Inspector, preferably on road and infrastructure projects
- Prior experience with PMC, consultancy, or large-scale construction projects is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, standards, and testing procedures
- Familiarity with project specifications, QA/QC procedures, and reporting requirements
- Excellent report writing, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently on-site and in a multi-disciplinary team
