This position will be primarily responsible for the commissioning activities of PLC, SCADA, MDAS, PASS, and associated control and monitoring systems at solar power plant project sites in KSA & other geographies. The ideal candidate will ensure all automation and control systems are installed, configured, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
As per the business unit’s strategy, the projects and operations would range from PV IPP renewal energy (Automation), Transmission and Distribution Control Rooms, Integration of various Renewable energy through EPMS/HEMS, ECMS (greenfield and brownfield) projects at various technology maturity levels (basic functionality to advanced functionality). These projects could cover a multitude of geography.
Key job responsibilitiesExecute on-site commissioning of:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
- Meter Data Acquisition System (MDAS)
- Communication interfaces, data loggers and IEDs
- Perform I/O checks, loop testing, logic verification, and SCADA HMI validation
- Validate communication protocols such as Modbus, IEC 61850, IEC 104, DNP3, etc.
- Coordinate with system integrators, OEM vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of automation and protection systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control signals, communication links, and data reporting.
- Ensure system compliance with client requirements and utility/grid code standards.
- Generate commissioning test reports, punch point lists, and documentation.
- Support remote SCADA integration and FAT/SAT as needed.
- Provide training and technical support to site O&M staff during handover
- Familiarity with RTU/Gateway setup and configuration
- Hands-on knowledge of SCADA/PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, GE, ABB, etc.)
- 3–6 years of experience in commissioning automation systems in solar, power, or industrial domains
- Understanding of network architectures and cybersecurity basics is a plus
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel and stay at project sites for extended durations
- Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Essential:
B.E/B.Tech in Electrical OR Electronics Engineering.
