Overview
Senior Structural Fabrication Engineer to oversee and support the fabrication of complex steel structures at our partner fabrication yard in Riyadh.
Responsibilities- Supervise fabrication of structural steel works at the fabrication yard in accordance with approved shop drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards (IS, Eurocode, AISC, etc.).
- Coordinate closely with HO Engineering Team, fabricators, QC teams, inspectors, and construction teams to ensure correct interpretation and implementation of drawings and technical requirements.
- Review shop drawings, fabrication details, material take-offs, and cutting plans related to steel structures.
- Ensure compliance with approved method statements, welding procedures (WPS/PQR), inspection and test plans (ITP), and quality control requirements.
- Monitor fabrication progress against schedule and report delays, constraints, and corrective actions to project management.
- Conduct regular inspections of fabrication activities, including material handling, cutting, welding, bolting, surface preparation, and painting.
- Ensure material certificates, mill test certificates (MTCs), and traceability of materials throughout fabrication.
- Identify non-conformities during fabrication, issue NCRs where required, and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Support construction engineering activities related to lifting plans, transportation, load-out, and yard operations.
- Coordinate with structural design engineers to resolve fabrication-related technical queries, RFIs, and constructability issues.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures, fabrication yard HSE rules, and safe lifting and handling practices.
- Maintain proper documentation of inspections, approvals, quality records, and fabrication progress reports.
- Participate in constructability reviews and propose design or detailing improvements to optimize fabrication efficiency and quality.
- Support site teams during erection by providing fabrication clarifications and resolving interface issues, as required.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (mandatory).
- 15+ years of experience in structural engineering and detailing.
- Experience in steel structures of oil and gas is a must.
- Strong understanding of steel and/or concrete structural design principles.
- Knowledge in Tekla Software.
- Knowledge of design codes (AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes, BS).
- Familiarity with Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
- Ability to interpret structural analyses and design calculations.
