WAMS Commissioning Engineer

Will be responsible for the field deployment, testing, configuration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of PMU-based synchrophasor systems across transmission or substation environments. The role involves hands‑on work with PMUs, PDCs, communication networks, GPS clocks, SCADA/EMS integration, and data validation to ensure reliable real‑time grid monitoring.

• Lead the commissioning of Wide Area Monitoring Systems (WAMS) for power grid and utility projects.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules in alignment with project requirements.
• Perform on‑site installation, configuration, and testing of WAMS hardware and software components.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and client teams to ensure successful system integration.
• Conduct system validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to meet operational standards.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation, commissioning reports, and handover materials.
• Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams on WAMS operation and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during commissioning, escalating complex problems as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
• 5 years of proven experience in commissioning, installation, or maintenance of power system monitoring solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Wide Area Monitoring Systems (WAMS) and related technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with SCADA, PMU (Phasor Measurement Units), and grid automation systems.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP3, and TCP/IP.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation.
